Biz New Zealand Ltd offers businesses help in other areas

In addition to preparation of Business Plans Biz New Zealand Ltd consults and helps in the preparation of Strategic Plans and Marketing Plans.

While there are elements of marketing and strategy contained in a Business Plan it is useful to elaborate on each of them in greater detail.

Marketing Plans

After a Business Plan perhaps the most important document that a business can preduce is a Marketing Plan. While marketing was addressed in the Business Plan in generalities it will need to be developed into an effective programme.

There are many options available to market a product or service and decisions will have to be made about how to most efficiently reach customers. Budgets will be tight and results crucial, particularly in the early stages, so using specialised outside help to get this right may be the difference between surviving and prospering.

Strategic Plans

While a Business Plan is concerned with the rationale and resources behind a project and getting it up and running, a Strategic Plan analyses in detail the pressures that will come to bear on a business over a longer period of time, generally five years or more. The Strategic Plan looks at the ways in which customers, competitors and the marketplace will react and change during the life cycle of the product or service, and detail what the business intends to do to keep its competitive advantage and position in the marketplace during that time.

Such things as increasing production capacity, adding new lines, serving additional markets and staving off competition are addressed in a Strategic Plan.

Ongoing Consultation

Biz New Zealand Ltd also offers ongoing consultation to businesses. This is an excellent way to ensure that you stay on track and stick to your Business Plan.  It's also a great way to get unbiased advice from someone outside the organisation who knows your venture intimately.

A consultation as infrequently as every six months can produce tangible results.
